What are Airplants? Also known as Tillandsia is a genus of around 540 species of evergreen, perennial (flowers that stay alive through seasons -opposite annual which is one season) flowering plant. Native to the forests, mountains and deserts of Central and South America, the southern United States and the West Indies.

The thinner-leafed varieties grow in rainy areas and the thick-leafed varieties in areas more subject to drought. Moisture and nutrients are gathered from the air (dust, decaying leaves and insect matter) through structures on the leaves called Tricromes.

Tillandsia species (also called saprophytes or air plants) – i.e. they normally grow without soil can be attached to other plants, wood, ornaments, etc.
This spiky plant has such a fun shape, with its pointy arms sprouting up and out in all directions..

Please keep in mind that these are unique and may look slightly different upon arrival depending on bloom and availability. Substitution for same size plant may be incorporated.
